BLS certification is ideal for anyone working in a healthcare setting. Sam's Heart Code Training offers an American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) Course tailored for healthcare professionals to identify critical emergencies and perform CPR for adults, children, and infants, utilize an AED, and manage choking situations. This course welcomes healthcare workers, whether they hold certifications or licenses. This BLS training emphasizes comprehensive CPR techniques for all ages. It also covers the AHA's chain of survival, detailing six critical stages from early intervention to post-resuscitation care. Participants will learn about and practice with AEDs (automated external defibrillators), ensure proper ventilation using barrier devices, and techniques to recognize, assess, and clear foreign-body airway obstructions in both adults and infants. BLS Course Content Overview: - American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care - The American Heart Association Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components Use of an AED - 1 Rescuer BLS and AED for adult, child, and infant - 2 Rescuer BLS and AED for adult, child, and infant - Differences between adult, child and infant rescue techniques - Bag-mask techniques for adult, child, and infant - Rescue breathing for adult, child, and infant - BLS with an advanced airway - Mouth to mouth for adult, child, and infant - Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) adult, child and infant Option 1: BLS Provider Initial / Renewal Course - Traditional Instructor-led classroom course - Average 3.5 Hours, Offered daily Monday through Saturday - CEUs available for most healthcare professions Option 2: BLS Online Fast-Track - Online and in-person hybrid for new or renewing students - Includes online access (2 hrs) and instructor-led skills testing (45 mins) - Online access provided in confirmation email - Refunds not available for Fast-Track Courses
